\u00c4ngelholm, Sweden (6 September 2021)<\/strong> \u2013 Koenigsegg today announced the buyback of NEVS\u2019s 65% stake in the joint venture company Meneko that produces the Gemera 4-seater Hypercar.<\/p>\n

The acquisition makes Koenigsegg the sole owner of the company. Koenigsegg formed the partnership with NEVS in January 2019 with the intended purpose of developing parallel volume vehicle models with an emphasis on electrification and CO2-neutral engines. <\/p>\n

Koenigsegg\u2019s purchase of NEVS\u2019s ownership in Meneko further supports and emphasizes its strategic goal of full integration of development and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

\u201cKoenigsegg\u2019s strong and stable growth both operationally and financially enables us to buy back NEVS\u2019s ownership in Meneko and take full ownership of the joint venture\u201d, said Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO and Founder of the company. \u201cIn preparation of the Gemera start of production, we are investing heavily in new facilities, competence and infrastructure, and this acquisition is an important step for us and in the growth of our business\u201d, adds Christian von Koenigsegg.\u201d <\/p>\n

Finally, Christian von Koenigsegg concludes, \u201cI would like to thank NEVS and their excellent team for their cooperation so far and I look forward to continuing our operational collaboration with NEVS in this and other projects\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Gemera is a unique car and it has been incredibly smooth and rewarding to collaborate with Koenigsegg on this project,\u201d says Stefan Tilk, CEO of NEVS. “We will always have an interest in Koenigsegg’s development and look forward to continued operational collaborations with them, now and in the future,” concludes Stefan Tilk. <\/p>\n

Koenigsegg is planning to build 300 Gemera models in the all-new production facility already under construction outside the current Koenigsegg facilities, with an anticipated start of production in 2023.The Gemera is the world\u2019s first Mega-GT and Koenigsegg\u2019s first four-seater that combines ultimate hypercar performance with 4 seats and room for luggage. The Gemera is also Koenigsegg\u2019s first 4-seat model and a hybrid with and combustion engine running on fossil-free fuels. <\/p>\n
