The Regera has been specially developed as a luxury megacar alternative to Koenigsegg’s traditional, extreme, lightweight, race-like, road-legal vehicles. It combines a powerful V8 biturbo internal combustion engine with three electric motors and state-of-the-art battery technology – based on the new drive system called Koenigsegg Direct Drive.
While traditional Koenigseggs have always been surprisingly practical with comfort and features, our focus has always been on building the fastest cars in the world. The Regera continues this tradition with innovative technology that combines breathtaking speed, supreme comfort and a unique Direct Drive driving experience.
The Regera’s Direct Drive transmission delivers breathtaking performance and one of the smoothest driving experiences imaginable. It’s a real Jekyll and Hyde – a car that can fully adapt to your mood.
The Regera has a rear subframe that allows the engine and transmission to rest on active soft mounts. Under normal driving conditions, the mounts remain soft and isolate engine noise and vibrations. During sporty driving, the mounts harden to stabilize the vehicle and increase responsiveness. The shock absorbers are active in both height and stiffness and immediately adapt to your inputs at the wheel.
Daytime running lights (DRL) are often the first impression you get of an approaching vehicle. The constellation effect was achieved by distributing LEDs like stars across the lamp cluster – embedded in a night sky made of polished carbon. This makes the Regera unmistakable even from a distance.

The Regera is the first car in the world in which all body openings can be operated fully automatically at the touch of a button. We call this system “Autoskin”.
Koenigsegg has succeeded in robotizing the entire Regera – with virtually no weight penalty, thanks to the latest developments in compact, lightweight hydraulic technology.
Autoskin hydraulics replace gas pressure dampers of similar weight, resulting in a minimal increase in weight. Autoskin also offers soft-close mechanisms that give the Regera a particularly elegant and refined feel.
All openings and exterior mirrors are equipped with proximity sensors to ensure that the doors do not touch any obstacles such as kerbs or low roofs when opening or closing.
The interior of the Regera is wrapped in a multitude of luxurious features – from two cup holders (a rarity in an extreme megacar of this class) to the classy seats, roof, carpets and dashboards, which are covered in either the finest leather or Alcantara.
Even the Regera’s function keys are specially designed – with nanoperforations so that they can be clearly backlit.
