The improvements included: visible carbon on the front hood and bumper, new front side wings, a completely new aero exhaust system and increased engine power with a higher rev limit.

The Agera R also marked the debut of Koenigsegg’s own ceramic piston brake system.
In 2011, the Agera R set a new world record for driving from 0 to 300 km/h and back to 0. The time of 21.19 seconds was only beaten by the Koenigsegg One:1 in 2015.

Koenigsegg was the first hypercar manufacturer to take steps towards environmentally friendly technology in 2007 with the CCXR bioethanol model. The Agera R follows this path with an enhanced fuel and engine management system that allows it to run on 95 octane gasoline, E100 biofuel or any blend in between. The engine management system recognizes the fuel mixture and adjusts engine operation accordingly.
The Agera R’s fuel system has a high enough flow capacity to produce 1140 hp and 1200 Nm of torque on E85 and E100 biofuels. As these biofuels contain less energy per volume compared to conventional gasoline, the system must handle a flow equivalent to that of a 2000 hp gasoline engine – meaning that the Agera R’s zero-return fuel system was the most powerful of any production vehicle at the time.
As 95-octane gasoline has a lower octane rating than ethanol E85, the output is reduced to 960 hp and 1100 Nm torque, as the boost pressure and ignition timing are adapted to the fuel characteristics.
The Agera R’s power delivery was boosted thanks to a redesigned turbocharger using a new configuration and new materials. This reduced intertia in the turbine wheel and axle, improving response and top-line performance.
